Biography

Marie A. Corliss, Esq. is Principal Attorney and founding member of Corliss Law Group, P.C. She has been practicing Estate, Medicaid and Special Needs Planning for more than 25 years. She achieved the designation of Accredited Estate Planner (AEP ®), a graduate level estate planning recognition awarded by the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils (NAEPC) to estate planning professionals who meet stringent requirements of experience, knowledge, education professional reputation, and character.

In addition to membership with the National Association of Estate Planning Attorneys, Marie is also a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Elder Law Answers, Elder Counsel, Wealth Counsel, the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the Westchester Woman's Bar Association and the Putnam County Estate Planning Counsel, where she had served as board member.

Before founding Corliss Law Group, she was a Partner and lead Elder Law attorney at Covey, Roberts, Corliss, Carmody-Roberts in Katonah NY. Before that, Marie serve as an associate attorney at Vincent Russo and Associates and did contract work related to Medicaid for Goldman, Gruder and Woods in Connecticut.

Marie graduated from Fordham College in 1981 with a B.A. in philosophy. She taught grammar school before matriculating at Cardozo Law school where she earned her JD degree, served as Articles Editor of the International Law Journal and won a regional moot court competition with several other team members. Upon earning her JD, Marie A. Corliss served as Bronx Assistant District Attorney-handling high profile child and elder abuse prosecutions. After working closely with the vulnerable, Marie followed her passion-practicing exclusively in the fields of Elder Law, Estate and Special Needs Planning for more than 25 years. She hopes for the privilege of serving her clients another 25 years.
